Kundalini Yoga
An Ancient form of yoga that awakens and connects you to your kundalini energy
REALIGNMENT
We are all born with Devine energy (Shakti) lying dormant at the base of our spine. Kundalini Yoga is an ancient healing practice that awakens and connects you to this energy.
The technology of Kundalini Yoga works through using different breathing techniques, exercises and chanting to activate and allow the controlled release of this energy, channelling it up through the spine to the brain (or up through the chakras) to where a sublime state of ecstasy and awareness can be achieved.
In Sanskrit, kundalini means “coiled snake”. Kundalini works to “uncoil the snake” and connect us to this Devine energy within.
Kundalini Yoga is one of the oldest and most powerful forms of yoga. Suggested to have originally been used in India by the warrior class within the Sikh religion. Much mystical literature and traditions also show that kundalini, called by various names, seems to have been a universal phenomenon in esoteric teachings for perhaps three thousand years.
Kundalini-type descriptions or experiences are found in the teachings of the Egyptians, Tibetans, Chinese, Native Americans and Africans. It is referred to in the Bible, “the solar principle in man”, the Koran, the works of Plato and other Greek philosophers, alchemical tracts and in Hermetic, Kabbalistic, Rosicrucian, and Masonic writings. It is mentioned in the sacred Vedic collections of texts known as the Upanishads and has certainly been practised in India since 500BC. Although oral tradition dates back even further than that.
For thousands of years, this sacred science and technology were passed from master to disciple in the oral tradition, veiling it in secrecy. However, with its emphasis on the transmutation of energy to higher consciousness, Indian yoga contributed to the cultivation of Kundalini and the preservation of its knowledge.
Carl J Jung observed that the Kundalini experience was rarely seen in the West and was never taught publicly until Yogi Bhajan, brought the yoga to the US in 1969. Since then, it has spread all over the world.
You feel the effects instantly. It is a natural high. But more than that, by clearing any energy blocks in your body and by bringing your chakras into balance, Kundalini helps you connect your mind to your body. You will quickly see how this practice affects your energy, emotions and how you deal with everyday situations, it just brings everything into flow.
It is life-changing.
